This easy hamburger recipe is a homemade version of a fast-food classic.
  • 4 large stuffed olives
  • 1 medium onion
  • 11/2 pounds ground steak
  • ¾ cup cold water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 3 tablespoon soft butter or margarine

  1. Slice olives using a trimmer
  2. Peel onion; slice them and separate into rings.
  3. Combine meat, water, salt, pepper; shape into 8 flat patties.
  4. Preheat 10-inch fry pan until a drop of water dances on the surface; add meat patties; brown quickly on both sides.
  5. Line shallow baking pan with Alcoa Wrap; place 4 patties in pan.
  6. Spread ketchup over the top of patties using a spreader spatula; arrange olives slices over ketchup.
  7. Top with remaining 4 patties and spread with butter.
  8. Insert toothpick through the center of each patty; hang onion rings over toothpicks.
  9. Bake 25-30 minutes at 375 degrees F.
